India Orders Industries to Submit Monthly Data on Chemicals

On February 19, 2024, the Indian Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers promulgated a notification directing the collection of statistics for the development-in-progress chemical inventory "ChemIndia". Chemical and petrochemical registered industries and units will be required to submit monthly information on the manufacture, installed capacity, import/export and sale of chemicals through the inventory's website. The data collected will be made publicly available on the website and included in the annual report by the ministry, as a part of strengthening the management of chemicals.
