India Working on Guidelines Against Greenwashing

The Consumer Affairs Bureau of India and the Central Consumer Protection Agency are currently working on a draft of the "Guidelines for Protection of Consumer against Greenwashing", the nation's Press Information Bureau (PIB) reported on January 11, 2024. Under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, it is prohibited to engage in false or misleading advertising of the environmental friendliness of certain products or services, commonly referred to as "greenwashing".
