On August 2, 2023, local media in India reported that a regulation on extended producer responsibility (EPR) for end-of-life vehicles (ELV) is being prepared. In the draft regulation, new vehicles manufactured since year 2026-27 onwards are required to include 20% of recycled metals from scrapped vehicles, which will be increased to 30% use in year 2028-29.
