Taiwan to revise the inspection-related regulations for 18 commodities including audio equipment

On July 19, 2022, the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), Ministry of Economic Affairs (M.O.E.A.) of Taiwan released the draft revision of inspection-related regulations for 18 commodities including audio equipment. The equipment subject to this revision include mono speakers, stereo speakers, and equipment for recording or reproducing sound. All of the above-mentioned 18 commodities are subject to the Taiwanese version of RoHS, and all inspection standards of these commodities include CNS 15663 Section 5 “Content labeling” (2013 version). In this revision, the inspection standards were revised and the exemption conditions were added. The revised inspection standards are scheduled to come into force on January 1, 2025.
