South Korea to revise stipulated quantities for toxic substance

On July 10, 2023, the Ministry of Environment (MOE) of South Korea published an proposed amendment to the Regulations on the Stipulated Quantities for Toxic Substances, Restricted Substances, Prohibited Substances and Permitted Substances. The proposed amendment aims to set stipulated quantities for six toxic substances newly identified in the Notice on Designation of Toxic Substances (National Institute of Environmental Research Notice No. 2023-21) published on June 1, 2023. From now on, facilities that handle any of these six toxic substances must prepare and submit the Chemical Accident Prevention and Control Plan pursuant to the prescribed stipulated quantity for each substance.
