South Korea to enhance EPR to include plastic Toys from 2026

On June 9, 2025, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MOE) announced a draft partial amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Promotion of Saving and Recycling of Resources, which adds toys to the list of items subject to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system. The MOE stated that it would solicit public comments on the draft amendment for a period of 40 days starting from June 10.
