South Korea expands EPR to require recycling of all electrical and electronic products from 2026

On April 22, 2025, South Korea's Ministry of Environment (MOE) duly finalized and promulgated an amendment to the Enforcement Order on the Act on Resource Circulation of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Vehicles (hereinafter "the Enforcement Order").

The major purpose of this amendment is to expand the scope of electrical and electronic products subject to the EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility), which regulates recycling responsibility) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) systems according to the following schedule:
