Singapore notifies WTO/TBT of a bill to regulate 12 substances covered by the Chemical Weapons Convention under its fire safety regulations

On December 8, 2022, Singapore submitted a WTO/TBT notification of the Draft Fire Safety (Petroleum & Flammable Materials) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2022. This bill is intended to regulate 12 substances covered by the Chemical Weapons Convention as flammable materials (FM) under the Fire Safety (Petroleum & Flammable Materials) Regulations. The public consultation period will run until February 6, 2023, and the bill is expected to come into effect on July 31, 2023. The original text of the bill has not been publicized.
