Singapore reported the Resource Sustainability (Amendment) Bill to the WTO/TBT on November 23, 2022. Singapore plans to launch a beverage container deposit system from mid-2024 as the first step in its extended producer responsibility (EPR) system for containers and packaging materials. Target beverage containers are metal cans and plastic bottles of pre-packaged beverages of 150 ml to 3 L. Comments will be solicited until January 22, 2023. It should be noted that the original text of the bills has not been made public.
