Indonesia sets new rules of products labelling

On April 1, 2021, “the Regulation of the Minister of Trade No. 25 of 2021 on determining products required to use or display Indonesian language labels” was enacted in Indonesia. This regulation came into effect 30 days after its enactment, and accordingly, the previous the Regulation of the Minister of Trade No. 73 of 2015 and No. 79 of 2019 became invalid.

The regulation defines the products to be regulated requires them to be marked on themselves or its packaging. The regulated goods are divided into the following five categories:

  1. household electronic devices and information and communication equipment (44 products)
  2. construction materials (8 products)
  3. automobile related goods (27 products)
  4. textile products (26 products)
  5. others (19 products)
