Indonesia Promulgates Regulation Revising Limits for Contaminants in Cosmetics

On September 18, 2024, Indonesian government promulgated “Regulation of the Food and Drug Authority No. 16/2024 on Restriction of Contaminants in Cosmetics” (hereinafter “the new Regulation”), which will enter into force 12 months from the date of promulgation. With the enactment of the new Regulation, the existing version, “Regulation of the Food and Drug Authority No. 12/2019 on Contaminants in Cosmetics” will be repealed.
