Indonesia to fully revise Food Packaging Regulations

A draft amendment to the Food Packaging Regulation (the "Draft") was released in Indonesia on December 19, 2023. When promulgated and implemented, the Draft will replace the current Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) Regulation No. 20 of 2019. The Draft specifies various requirements for food packaging materials, specifically detailing the conditions for food packaging materials, migration limit values, food contact substances permitted for use, and food contact materials prohibited for use, in the annexes listed below.
