India amends emission standards for new engines used for generator sets with 800kW or less

On November 4, 2022, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India published the “Environment (Protection) Third Amendment Rules, 2022” to revise the emission standards for fixed-speed or variable-speed new engines manufactured, assembled, and imported into India, which are used for generator sets with a total machine output of 800 kW or less. The proposed amendments were announced on February 18, 2022 and will come into effect on July 1, 2023. Devices that will be subject to the rules include
