India India CPCB submits the proposal to NGT to make fines stricter for noise pollution

On June 12, 2020, India’s Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) submitted the proposal to National Green Tribunal (NGT) to make fines stricter for noise pollution prescribed in Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2020. The NGT requested, in November 2019, CPCB to review the fines applicable to noise pollution and recidivism due to the use of crackers. The proposed fines are listed as follows.
