India publishes Quality Control Order for sewing machines 
On March 17, 2021, India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry published the quality control order for sewing machines. The order will come into force on September 1, 2021. The provisions of this order are as follows.
- Goods or articles specified in the table shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard as specified in the said table and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per the Scheme I of Schedule II of the “Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018”. However, this does not apply to goods exported outside India.
