India Promulgates Quality Control Order for Electrical Appliances including Washing Machines and Air Coolers

On March 5, 2024, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry promulgated a total of six quality control orders, each for air coolers/air filters, household clothes washing appliances, kitchen appliances, commercial dispensers and vending machine appliances, electric fans as well as skin care/hair care appliances. All of them will come into effect 6 months after the date of promulgation, but 9 months after for companies classified as small enterprises, and 12 months after for micro enterprises.
