India Issues Document of Release of Imported Consignments under E-Waste Rules

On May 9, 2023, India’s Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued a notification document on the implementation of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, which indicates the release of 85 items of imported electrical and electronic equipment by producers. Prior to this, CPCB had already promulgated another document to address the delay in registration by producers, due to the delayed implementation of the EPR portal. This new document indicates the deadline of the measures to be taken.
