Indian CPCB releases SOP for Producer Registration under Battery Waste Management Rules

On March 21, 2023, the Indian Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) issued the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for producer registration through the online portal under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022. In accordance with the provisions of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), producers are required to register for authorization, and must apply by submitting the necessary documents such as producer general information, battery type, and sales data through the dedicated portal (*producers need to create an account).
