Australia agrees to transition to circular economy with practical activities for nature protection

On November 10, 2023, the Environment Ministers’ Meeting (EMM) was held in Adelaide. Ambitious national goals for nature conservation, important next steps for transitioning to a circular economy, and practical on-the-spot actions to promote nature conservation and leave better nature for future generations were agreed, and a communiqué was announced.

Regarding the transition to a circular economy, the ministers approved a national traceability framework to strengthen packaging standards and promote recycling with peace of mind. The ministers also agreed to strengthen cooperation between state governments on product management.
