Australia Publishes Results  of Public Consultation on Packaging Regulation Reform

In February 2025, the Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW) unveiled the results of its public consultation on proposed packaging regulation reforms. This follows the release of the Reform of Packaging Regulation: Consultation Paper in September 2024, which outlined three possible regulatory approaches. Of the 426 responses submitted, the majority supported "Option 3: Introducing an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Scheme."
