Australia Considers Strengthening Energy Efficiency Standards for Pool Pumps, External Power Supplies, and Motors

The Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW) has released three draft proposals to improve the energy efficiency and minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) of products supplied or sold in Australia and New Zealand. The consultation periods are indicated in parentheses:

  • Swimming Pool Pumps: March 3, 2025 – April 14, 2025
  • External Power Supplies (EPS): March 17, 2025 – April 28, 2025
  • Three-Phase Cage Induction Motors: March 17, 2025 – April 28, 2025
