Technical Standards for Biomass Power Generation Facilities

On February 26, 2021, the “Ministerial Ordinance Partially Amending the Ministerial Ordinance Specifying the Technical Standards for Thermal Power Generation Facilities” was promulgated and came into effect immediately. As a result, “technical standards for biomass power generation facilities” were newly specified, and the technical standards that have not been clarified so far will be stipulated for biomass power generation facilities, which have been increasingly introduced in Japan in recent years.

 

The ministerial ordinance establishing “technical standards for thermal power generation equipment”

As the name implies, this ordinance establishes technical standards for thermal power generation facilities, which can be roughly divided into the following categories.

Technical standards for biomass power generation facilities

The technical standards for biomass power generation facilities, newly established by the Ministerial Ordinance, are established by adding Chapter 8-2 and Article 68-2 of the Ministerial Ordinance.
