On August 7, 2026, Japan’s Ministry of the Environment (MOE) published “the Green Bond Guidelines and Sustainability‑Linked Bond Guidelines (2026 Edition)” and “the Green Loan and Sustainability‑Linked Loan Guidelines (2026 Edition)” (collectively, “the Guidelines”) as common practical guidelines for appropriately and soundly expanding Japan’s sustainable finance market.
