Japan Adds PFHxS‑Related Substances to Class I Specified Chemical Substances Under the CSCL

On June 12, 2026, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW); Ministry of Economy (MOE), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI); and other relevant ministries jointly promulgated the following revised Ministerial Ordinance, and Notification. These revisions were issued in connection with the newly adopted designation of “perfluoro(hexane1sulfonic acid) (PFHxS)related substances” as Class I Specified Chemical Substances under the Act on the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture, etc. (CSCL).
