Japan Seeks Public Comments on the Domestic Implementation Plan (Draft) for the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC)

On February 18, 2025, Japan unveiled a draft of the Domestic Implementation Plan for the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC), aiming for a world free from the harmful effects of chemicals and waste. Public comments on the draft can be submitted until March 21, 2025. This plan outlines comprehensive chemical management throughout the chemical lifecycle, targeting five strategic objectives and 28 goals. The GFC serves as the successor to the "Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM)" and was adopted during the 5th International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5) in September 2023.
