China promotes replacement, upgrading of motors, home appliances, other key products for higher energy efficiency 
On Feb. 20, 2023, China’s National Development and Reform Commission published “guiding opinions” on the replacement and upgrading of key products for saving energy and reducing carbon emissions in an integrated manner as well as for recycling. Key products covered by the guiding opinions include boilers, motors, transformers, lighting equipment and home appliances.
The guiding opinions include targets for 2025 and 2030. These opinions are accompanied by implementation guidelines that specify measures for the replacement, upgrading and recycling of each key product.
