China Releases “15th Five-Year Plan for the Construction of a New Energy System”

On June 13, 2026, China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and other relevant authorities released the 15th Five-Year Plan for the Construction of a New Energy System. This plan was formulated to establish a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient new energy system during the Chinese government’s "15th Five-Year" period (2026–2030). The plan sets specific targets for 2030, drives development across five major priority development regions, and accelerates hydrogen infrastructure construction.
