China Promulgates “Ecological Environment Code”: Part 5— Solid Waste Pollution Prevention and Control

The Ecological Environment Code of the People's Republic of China was passed by the 14th National People's Congress and will take effect on August 15, 2026. This article (Part 5) outlines the provisions of the Code regarding the prevention and control of solid waste pollution. Upon the enforcement of the Code, the existing Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste will be repealed.
