Chinese Government Launches Campaign to Promote Green Consumption for Home Appliances, Automobiles, Etc. 
On January 4, 2026, China’s Ministry of Commerce and other eight government departments and agencies jointly announced a national campaign to promote green consumption. It aims to promote green transformation (GX) as well as green consumption. Green consumption refers to consumption that contributes to health and the environment; GX is an initiative to transform the overall economic, social and industrial systems from fuel-based to clean energy-based structures.
The campaign includes measures to promote green appliances, support new-energy vehicle purchase and build green supply chains. Some of the important measures are listed below.
