China publishes proposed regulations on mercury-added products to implement decisions of Minamata Convention COP5

On Jan. 16, 2024, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment published proposals for regulating certain mercury-added products according to the decisions of the Fifth Conference of Parties (COP5) to the Minamata Convention on Mercury. The ministry collected comments on the proposed regulations from relevant government bodies and industry groups through Jan. 31, 2024.
