China reveals revision of mandatory safety standard for toys

On Feb. 9, 2024, China’s Certification and Accreditation Administration made a WTO/TBT notification of a draft revision of the mandatory national standard, “Safety of Toys - Part 1: Basic code”. Comments on the draft will be accepted for 60 days from the notification. The draft does not specify an effective date, but it is expected to come into effect 36 months after approval.

The draft standard would replace the GB 6675.1-2014 standard.
