China releases draft revised national standard that sets out technical principles for energy conservation monitoring

On Nov. 20, 2023, the China National Institute of Standardization published a draft revised recommended national standard called the General Principles for Monitoring and Testing of Energy Saving (GB/T 15316). The institute is seeking comments on the draft through Jan. 20, 2024.

The draft standard sets out technical principles for energy conservation monitoring by energy-consuming entities. It introduces greenhouse gas monitoring requirements, provisions on monitoring technology, and reporting requirements.
