On August 26, 2026, Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor announced a revised version of the Regulations for the Labeling and Hazard Communication of Hazardous Chemicals, which establishes Taiwan's GHS and SDS requirements. Based on the 8th revised edition of the UN GHS document (Purple Book), this revision adds a hazard classification for "desensitized explosives" and updates the hazard classifications for Category 1 flammable gases, aerosols, and chemicals under pressure. Additionally, the contents of various sections in Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) have been revised, and provisions regarding corrective notices and fines for SDS errors have been added. Furthermore, a provision was introduced stating that components classified as Aspiration Toxicity Category 1 are ineligible to apply for SDS disclosure exemptions.
