Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment Announces Amendments to “Restrictions on the Import of Mercury-Containing Products”

On June 22, 2026, Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment announced amendments to the Restrictions on the Import of Mercury-Containing Products. Formulated to align with the regulatory trends of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, this amendment notice adds new mercury-containing products to the import ban list and revises provisions regarding exemptions. The amended notice will be implemented in phases starting July 1st, 2026.
