Taiwan tightens the fuel economy standards for gasoline and diesel vehicles

On January 2, 2025, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan issued amendments to the “Vehicle Fuel Energy Standards and Inspection Management Measures”. Vehicles that do not meet the fuel economy standards stipulated in the measures, which were enacted under the “Energy Management Act”, cannot be imported into or sold in Taiwan.
