Taiwan issues guidelines on carbon neutrality declaration

On September 26, 2024, the Environment Ministry of Taiwan issued “Guidelines for carbon neutrality declarations by companies”. Although the Guideline is not mandatory, companies are encouraged to use it as an operating standard to make carbon neutrality declaration to prevent greenwashing.

 

Application scope

The Guidelines is applicable to companies to make a carbon neutrality product /service declaration, or carbon neutrality organization declaration after they have confirmed that they have achieved carbon neutrality.
