Taiwan raises MEPS for low voltage squirrel cage induction motors

On April 16, 2024, the Energy Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan released the amended version of the notice “Allowable energy consumption standards, as well as labelling items and inspection methods for the low voltage squirrel cage induction motors”. The amendment raises the MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standards) of low voltage squirrel cage induction motor to IE3 (with rated output power lower than 75kW) and IE4 (with rated output power higher than or equal to 75kW). The amended standard will come into force on July 1, 2025.
