China’s Hebei province announces program for carbon emissions peaking

In January 2023, the government of Hebei province, China, announced a program for carbon emissions peaking. This program has been developed to fully implement national policies for carbon emissions peaking and carbon neutrality, based on an action plan of the State Council.

The program includes targets for 2025 and 2030, along with specific plans to achieve these targets. For example, Hebei province aims to increase its wind and solar power capacity to 134 million kW by 2030 for renewable energy promotion.
