China’s MEE lists 18 chemicals on its “List of Existing Chemical Substances”

On March 2, 2022, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment released a list of 18 substances in the “List of Existing Chemical Substances.” The 18 substances will be managed as existing chemicals from the date of listing, and the substances subject to environmental management for new uses will be managed as new chemicals when used for industrial applications other than those permitted. The name, CAS number and new-use management information for some of the listed substances are as follows.

Permitted use: Light stabilizers for various polymer resins.

Permitted use: bleach activator.

Cobalt salts of resin acids and rosin acids 68956-82-1 Other industrial applications other than those permitted.

Permitted use: Tire manufacturing.
