China MIIT Publishes Draft “Administrative Measures for Industrial Water Conservation” for Public Comment

On January 29, 2026, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a draft of the Administrative Measures for Industrial Water Conservation (hereinafter, the Measures) and launched a public consultation. The Measures were drafted to fully implement the Water Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Regulations on Water Conservation, as well as to strengthen the management of water conservation in the industrial sector.
