China Releases “Comprehensive Action Plan for Solid Waste Management”

On January 4, 2026, China’s State Council released the Comprehensive Action Plan for Solid Waste Management. The plan sets goals for 2030 and outlines measures to reduce solid waste emissions from industrial waste to municipal household waste as well as agricultural and forestry waste, enhance standardized management, and raise the level of resource utilization.
