On 13 November 2020, China’s State Administration of Market Supervision submitted WTO/TBT notifications on compulsory national standard “Minimum Allowable Values of the Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Grades for multi-connected air-condition (heat pump) units”. The comment period for the drafts is before 11 Jan 2021. The publication and effective dates have not been set at this writing. In addition, the GB content in the WTO notification is unchanged from the revision draft published by the China National Institute of Standardization on April 21, 2020.
Compared to GB 21454-2008, this revised version mainly includes the following amendments.
- Scope of application was revised.
- The definition and request for “energy savings rating” are removed.
- The maximum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades are revised.
The following is an overview of the revised version of the national standard.
Scope
This standard specifies the maximum allowable values of energy efficiency, energy efficiency grades and testing method for multi-connected air-condition (heat pump) units and low ambient temperature air source multi-connected heat pump (air-conditioning) units.
This standard is applicable to air-cooled or water-cooled multi-connected air-condition (heat pump) units, low ambient temperature air source multi-connected heat pump (air-conditioning) units.
The maximum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades (MEPS) (partly only) is as follows
Grade 1 is the highest grade and Grade 3 is the maximum allowable values of energy efficiency.
