Chinese Government Announces Criteria, Preferential Treatment for Domestic Products in Government Procurement

On Oct. 9, 2025, China’s State Council issued on its website a circular on criteria and preferential treatment for domestic products in government procurement. The criteria and treatment are based on Government Procurement Law¹ and Foreign Investment Law². The circular will come into effect Jun. 1, 2026. Here is an overview.
