China Announces New Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Target — 7–10% Cut from Peak Levels by 2035

On September 23, 2025, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a video address at the United Nations Climate Change Summit, outlining China’s new greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction strategy. According to the plan, China aims to reduce its net GHG emissions by 7–10% from peak levels by 2035.
