China announces cities and target products to implement CFP labeling certification pilot program

On January 7, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China issued the “List of Implementing Product Carbon Footprint Label Certification Pilot Program” (list). The “Notice on the Implementation of Product Carbon Footprint Label Certification Pilot Program” (notice) issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation on September 9, 2024, indicated that the “Product Carbon Footprint Label Certification Polit Program” (polit program) would be implemented for target products such as lithium batteries, photovoltaic power generation products, and electrical and electronic equipment in certain areas that meet specific conditions.
