Chinese institution publishes draft national standards for disassembly, treatment of waste electrical, electronic products

On June 18, 2024, as part of China’s national program for standards development1, the China Electronics Standardization Institute published the following draft national standards:

  • Requirements of Disassembly and Treatment for Waste Electrical and Electronic Products—Television and Display Device (project number: 20231212-T-339)
  • Requirements of Disassembly and Treatment for Waste Electrical and Electronic Products—Copier, Printer and Multi-function Printer (project number: 20231213-T-339)
  • Requirements of Disassembly and Treatment for Waste Electrical and Electronic Products—Micro-computer (project number: 20231214-T-339)

 

The institute is seeking comments on the drafts through Aug. 9, 2024. The draft standards set out management requirements, technical requirements, pollution control requirements and energy and water conservation requirements for the recycling, disassembly and treatment of waste electrical and electronic products. The standards could also be used as references for products that are not directly covered by them.
