China’s Beijing issues guidelines for soil contamination control planning in industrial parks

On April 25, 2024, the Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau of Beijing, China, published a local standard called the Guideline for the Preparation of Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Plan in Industrial Parks (DB11/T 2215-2024), which came into effect immediately.

The city of Beijing announced a soil contamination control program in 2022. This aims to implement pollution control measures at source, including soil contamination control planning by industrial parks (for background information, see the related article at the bottom of this article). The latest standard is guidelines for this planning.

The standard explains steps of soil contamination control planning in industrial parks: collection of basic information on contamination, sampling and monitoring, analysis, and risk management measures and proposals.
