China releases two draft industry standards for evaluating and grading carbon neutrality management systems in electronics industry

On Sept. 21, 2023, China Electronics Standardization Institute published drafts of two recommended industry standards for the evaluation and grading, respectively, of carbon neutrality management systems in the electronics industry. The institute is seeking comments on the drafts through Oct, 22, 2023.

Electronic products have a short lifecycle, there are many types of them, and large amounts of greenhouse gases are released from their processing, production, use, recycling and other processes. Due to these conditions, greenhouse gases emitted by the electronics industry are increasing each year. To address this issue, the need to develop carbon neutrality management systems in this industry is building up.

Here is an overview of the two draft standards.
