China releases draft principles for environmental impact assessment review for construction work

On Sept. 26, 2023, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment released draft principles for the review and approval of environmental impact assessment reports for construction work in the following industries:

  • Cement manufacturing
  • Electrolytic aluminum production
  • Integrated circuit manufacturing
  • Lithium-ion battery and related battery material manufacturing

 

The ministry collected comments on the drafts. These draft principles set out specific requirements for site selection, pollution prevention, etc. for construction work.
