China’s Hebei province announces program for carbon emissions peaking in industry sector

On March 3, 2023, China’s Hebei province announced a program for carbon emissions peaking in the industry sector. This program includes specific targets for 2025, such as reducing energy consumption by 16.5% in relation to industrial value added from the 2020 levels in industries larger than a prescribed size. It also includes measures such as promoting new-energy vehicles and other emerging industries, and increasing energy efficiency of motors and other key equipment.
